About Role:
AGM – Ancillary Businesses: Overview
This position will lead the Ancillary Businesses for Pakistan.
As the company has grown in scale, there has been an influx of monetization opportunities and avenues for strategic partnerships that not only unlock added value for the Portfolio top-line, but also help cement and develop Swvl’s position within the ride-sharing industry and the overall economic ecosystem.
Role Responsibilities:
- Explore, identify and build opportunities for ancillary businesses in collaboration with various sectors of the economy like banks, telcos, FMCGs, advertising agencies, etc. to unlock alternative opportunities
- Build a pipeline of clients / partnerships and own the relationship end-to-end, including contract negotiations, legal and regulatory guard rails, executional contingencies, etc.
- Create and leverage partnerships for both:
- Asset branding
- In-bus experiences and Value-add services (e.g. in-ride entertainment, games, music, etc.)
- Product placements
- Manage the Vertical P&L, ensuring achievement of revenue and profitability targets
- Innovate and build automated and scalable solutions that help overcome operational barriers to business growth and efficiency
- Build an ecosystem of partners and collaborators to better manage the vertical
- Lead cross-functional conversations for the Vertical on a local and regional level, liaising with Functional and Strategic leadership for problem-solving or collaborative initiatives
Role Requirements:
- Proven experience in a leadership role with P&L and category responsibilities
- 6-8 years of work experience
- A partnerships or alliances background, ideally from a Commercial or Advertising standpoint
- Ideally someone with a history of working in fast-paced startups or ambiguous work environments with a passion for building structures and processes
- Ability to work within cross-functional teams, and excellent internal and external stakeholder management
- Ability to innovate: create value not just from simple concepts but by challenging the status-quo and creating solutions that pave the way
- Someone that can think strategically and operationally: delivering the day to day while defining and leading the direction for this Vertical.
