Talent Acquisition Associate / Coordinator
Job Overview
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory has an opening for a detail-oriented and proactive Talent Acquisition Associate to join the Human Resources Division. Working closely with our Talent Acquisition and HR teams, this position facilitates and coordinates high-volume, fast-paced recruitment activities to support and maximize efficiency of the recruitment process across Berkeley Lab. Our ideal candidate is ultra organized, a skilled problem-solver and able to shift gears at a moment’s notice to meet our clients’ hiring needs.
What You Will Do:
- Support the Talent Acquisition function across Berkeley Lab’s business operations and scientific groups, working closely with assigned HR teams.
- Write high-quality, compelling job postings aimed at attracting diverse qualified applicants. Assist recruiters with advertising open positions.
- Support a high volume of open requisitions in the Applicant Tracking System (Taleo) at various stages of the recruitment life-cycle, ensuring an optimal candidate experience and data quality. This includes managing requisition and applicant status, coordinating screening/interview logistics, conducting reference checks, processing pre-offer and pre-hire activities, and ensuring a smooth transition to onboarding.
- Maintain Applicant Tracking System for compliance and HR reporting.
- Manage the full talent acquisition lifecycle for Postdoc appointments, student assistants, labor certifications (green card) process and other assigned requisitions.
- Provide general guidance to employees and supervisors on policy related to the recruitment process.
- Support recruiting and outreach events and activities, which may require domestic overnight travel to various outreach events, as needed.
- Establish collaborative working relationships with recruiters, hiring managers and HR staff.
What is Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience supporting and coordinating recruiting or similar activities, including prior experience supporting full life-cycle recruitment or other highly structured Human Resources or management-related processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing recruitment system activities from requisition creation to onboarding in an enterprise talent acquisition system (e.g., Taleo) and ensuring quality data entry to eliminate errors and down-stream impacts.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to independently prioritize and execute multiple activities using multiple electronic resources and tools. Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent and tactful communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including experience creating job posting advertisements from detailed position descriptions, or transferrable technical editing or marketing/communications writing experience.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to provide recommendations based on assessment.
- Must be able to work on Mac and PC platforms. Strong computer skills and proficiency in Applicant Tracking System (e.g. Taleo), HRIS, Word, Excel and email. Experience with Google Apps and collaboration tools. Experience using Taleo and PeopleSoft desired.
- Team player with a strong work ethic, high sense of urgency, and motivation to see the overall team succeed.
- Knowledge of OFCCP, experience working with candidates requiring employment visas, and experience working in a union environment preferred.

- This is a full-time career appointment, exempt (monthly paid) from overtime pay.
